On the 20th anniversary of Saint Gianna Beretta Molla’s canonization, Dr. Gianna Emanuela Molla shares the powerful and inspiring example of her most beloved Saint Mom and Holy Dad.

Saint Gianna Beretta Molla was a Catholic wife, mother, pediatrician, and prolife witness who dedicated herself to charitable work with the elderly, poor and vernerable in Italy. She and her husband Pietro Molla, an engineer, were married in 1955. St. Gianna ran a pediatrician practice in Giuseppe, close to her hometown, while the couple grew their family. When a complication developed during pregnancy, she made a heroic choice in 1962 to give her life to save their fourth child, Emanuela.

Pietro wrote a biography of his wife’s life in 1971, dedicating it to his children, emphasizing that her choice was one of conscience as both a loving mother and doctor. St. Gianna’s beautification process was opened under Pope John Paul II in 1980. Gianna was proclaimed a saint in Saint Peter’s Square in 2004 with her husband and children present; it was the first time a husband had ever witnessed his wife’s canonization. She is the patron of mothers, physicians, and unborn children.

Pietro died in 2010 at the age of 97, and Dr. Gianna Emanuela Molla continues the legacy of her “Saint Mom” and “Holy Dad” by sharing stories of their blessed union. St. Gianna’s brother, uncle and husband all have been declared Venerable, and the cause for Pietro’s beatification and canonization may be opened soon.

In her joyful presentation, Dr. Gianna Emanuela will offer a glimpse into the lives of her holy parents, who totally sacrificed their lives for her and her siblings — in different ways — to give greater glory to the Lord. Join us for veneration, Mass, and Dr. Molla’s remarkable presentation on May 24, 2024.
